Workshop of the vanilla Islands in Mauritius on social networks at the end of May 2014
The Vanilla Islands in action

In the fulfillment of its missions, the Vanilla Islands Organisation implements additional actions to those of the islands tourism boards, and particularly regarding the medium and the long-term outlook.
Three main objectives have been set in order to complement the strategy if the islands’ tourism boards:
Objective 1: increase the number of high-end tourists
Objective 2: supply tools for more efficiency
Objective 3: Promote quality standards and services
In order to collaborate better on markets, to make more coherent actions, for more efficiency, a workshop will be set up on the next May 26th and 27th in Mauritius.
On the theme of the social networks, the " community managers " of Comoros, Madagascar, the Maldives, Mauritius, Mayotte, Reunion Island and Seychelles will meet for the workshop in order to gain a better insight into this growing marketing field.
An Australian consultant recognized in the tourism sector will be conducting this workshop to provide the participants with the knowledge and know-how to better embrace these new marketing technologies, reaching out to new clients and potential holiday makers.
It is indeed recognized that the social networks constitute an ideal field and marketing platform to ensure the promotion of the destinations, and to interact directly with the population.
The Vanilla islands must be correctly positioned and this training marks the first stage of this collective work.
