The foundation stone of a factory of flavors and fragrances

The Swiss global leader in flavors and fragrances industry, Givaudan, has recently laid the first stone his third African factory - after Egypt and South Africa - on the side of Toamasina in the east of Madagascar.

The Natema project under authorization of free zone enterprise was therefore intended of producing the molecule of eugenol from cloves. The eugenol would then be sent on external markets with production which is expected to drain hundreds of millions of dollars annually in its wake.
As a reminder, the Swiss group Givaudan releases on an annual basis a turnover of about 4 billion dollars and currently owns 25% of the sector's market share.
