The continental shelf between Mauritius and Seychelles shortly subject to a partnership agreement

The Mauritian and Seychellois authorities are preparing to shortly finalize a partnership for the joint exploitation of the continental shelf of 396.000 km2 managed jointly between both countries.
After ten years after the opening of the first such legal talks, a Seychelles delegation is expected in Mauritius in July to definitively enact the basis of this agreement.
The protection of the environment, fishing areas, possible oil exploitation and management of all the marine resources will form the core of the work which should result in a sharing of waters.
