The Vanilla Islands' purpose is to promote inter-island multi centre holidays to help developing tourism in the Indian Ocean.
During the end of year exhibitions, and just a few days after WTM London, the tourist figures for January to August 2015 were published.
The changes are as follows:
Multi centre holidays
(minimum 2 nights each destination)
Change (%)/2014*
Reunion<->Mauritius 14
Mauritius<->Seychelles 22
Madagascar<->Mauritius -9.3
Reunion<->Madagascar -6.9
Reunion<->Mayotte 2.9
Madagascar<->South Africa 29
TOTAL Multi Centre Holidays 12

*in descending order according to number of arrivals

The total number of tourists taking inter-island multi centre holidays has increased by 12% since the beginning of the year.

In terms of volume, the Reunion/Mauritius combination was very popular, with an increase of 14%.
That combination alone represents 68% of those sold in 2015, which makes it the product of choice for tourists.
In terms of the order book, the development up to the end of the year indicates a global increase of close to 5%.
So 2015 should be a good year for inter-island multi centre holidays.
