The Seychelles archipelago will soon be member of the World Trade Organisation

The executive bodies of the World Trade Organisation have agreed, a few days ago, the archipelago's WTO accession that should be effective after approval of the decision by the Seychelles deputies.
The Seychelles archipelago will thus become the 161st country to be a member of the WTO. Since 1995, the Seychelles authorities knocked on the door of the organisation.
"This is a historic day for Seychelles and its inhabitants. The reforms, we had to be undertaken in the accession process has already brought significant benefits ... Our country now has a platform that provides our small island nation in the same equal opportunities as our major counterparts, to make our voice heard on trade issues, "said Pierre Laporte, the Minister of Finance of the archipelago.
