The Director of the Office of tourism of Seychelles puts forward the vanilla Islands at a WTO conference in the Bahamas




Sherin Naiken, the Director of the Office of tourism of Seychelles has been invited to a conference of the world Organisation of tourism (WTO) dealing with small island developing States and held recently in the Bahamas in Nassau.

The conference was thus theme "tourism as a key sector for development in island States" in the wake of regional integration and better air connectivity between the Islands to facilitate travel.
 
The five strategic directions proposed in the final declaration at the conclusion of the work of the international conference of the world Organisation of tourism (OMT), which took place in Reunion Island in September 2013
discussed preparations for the third international conference on small island developing States that to be held in September 2014 to the Samoan Islands in the Pacific.
 
Sherin Naiken, the Director of the Office of tourism of Seychelles has thus put forward, this Conference of the World Tourism Organisation in the Bahamas, the vanilla Islands (Reunion, Seychelles, Madagascar, Mauritius, Comoros, Mayotte and the Maldives) who advocate since their inception in August 2010 the repositioning of the Indian Ocean as a tourist destination and the cohesion of these countries around this common objective.
