Seychelles want to boost regional tourism by bringing all the nations of the Indian Ocean

Seychelles engage in sustainable regional tourism promotion actions, bringing together all the stakeholders.

The archipelago will thus host in 2014 a workshop, involving all members of the Indian Ocean Rim Association for Regional Cooperation (IOR-ARC) and this to give a new impetus to the tourism industry expanded in the heart of the Indian Ocean.

All Tourism Ministers of the member states will be present next year in the Seychelles, in order to strengthen and develop the tourism industry, in particular through the Vanilla Islands, with the establishment of substantial resources to develop a common strategy constructive for the future of regional tourism.

Set in the center of work, the dominant role of the Indian Ocean, the nerve center at the planet and which remains a pool of extraordinary growth for a reasoned and coordinated regional tourism, the objective is clearly displayed.

Seychellois Minister of Tourism and Culture, Alain St. Ange, and Derek Savy, director of marketing for the Vanilla Islands have had recent discussions in Mauritius, with the Secretary General of IOR-ARC, KV Bhagirath to evoke the event beforehand.

The association consists of 19 member states (India, Bangladesh, Australia, Indonesia, Iran, Kenya, Madagascar, Malaysia, Mauritius, Mozambique, Oman, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, Yemen and Seychelles) and was created in 1997, had gathered for a meeting in Mauritius.

As a reminder, China, Japan, Egypt, France and Britain are also key partners of the IOR-ARC.
