Seychelles archipelago starts in renewable energy sources, with eight wind off the port of Victoria
Two islets off the port of Victoria in the Seychelles archipelago is launched from mid-June in renewable energy sources, with eight turbines that are active in the wind.
 
Funded by the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, the wind farm can produce 6 megawatts will eventually supply more than 2,000 homes in Mahe, the main island in the Seychelles, where 70,000 residents, or 90% of the population of the archipelago.
 
By the year 2030, the Seychelles thus account to depend by at least 15% of its needs from renewable non-fossil energy and no longer wants to be treated exclusively as an energy-dependency on imported oil.
