Seychelles: The Minister of Culture, Alain Saint-Ange, invited to participate in the prayer of breaking the fast of Ramadan




The Minister of tourism and Culture of the Seychelles, Alain Saint-Ange, accompanied among others by Vincent Meriton, Minister of community development and the Honourable Judge Francis Mac Gregor, president of the Court of appeal as well as alongside several members of the judiciary and seychellois burro, participated last Saturday in the prayer of Iftar, to mark the breaking of the fast in this holy month of Ramadan for the Muslim community of the Seychelles archipelago.
 
The leaders of the Islamic society of Seychelles which includes some 2,000 believers in the archipelago were warmly thanked the representatives of the Government of Seychelles as well as members of the judiciary present at this ritual prayer.
 
"For me, religion is part of our culture, and respect for the culture is the basis for a society. This is why as Minister of culture, I am pleased to see the culture in all its forms can take root... May your prayers and sacrifices be successful for you, individually and collectively", said Minister of tourism and Culture of the Seychelles, Alain Saint-Ange, who recalled that the first mosque of the archipelago was built in 1982.
