The participants of the 56th meeting of the Commission for Africa of the world Organisation of tourism (OMT) which was held in Luanda in Angola from 28 to 30 April 2014 decided that the next regional summit will be held in Seychelles in April 2015 and will coincide with the dates of the international Carnival of Victoria.

The Minister of tourism and Culture of the Seychelles and even president of the vanilla Islands for a few days, Alain Saint-Ange, who had made the request, welcomed the formalisation.

"This will be an excellent opportunity to showcase the work of Seychelles which promotes culture by placing people at the heart of the development of the Islands and insular tourism industry. Carnival of Seychelles is unique, because it is the only Carnival which drains in its wake of cultural troops arriving from around the world and who parade under the same universal standard... African Ministers be able to measure the field of the importance for their countries to be present and use the Carnival as a platform of visibility of their own tourist industry", said the Minister of tourism and Culture of the Seychelles, Alain Saint-Ange.
