Seychelles: Still no official confirmation of the participation of Mauritius in the international Carnival of Victoria




The Mauritian tourism authorities have not yet confirmed their official participation in the international Carnival of Victoria with the 4th edition will take place from 25 to 27 April 2014.
 
The Tourist Office of Mauritius (MTPA) as opposed to other members of the vanilla islands, as Reunion, Madagascar and Mayotte which already recorded their presence, submitted for this edition that the Ministry of Culture to endorse.
 
The President of vanilla Islands and Minister of tourism and Culture of the Seychelles, Alain Saint-Ange, still hope that Mauritius is part and deplore a situation that saddened him deeply.
 
"Mauritius has not yet indicated if it will attend, it hurts me a lot. I hope that it will eventually be among us as the previous years. It would be a good thing that the Mauritian flag to float the Seychelles", says the President of vanilla Islands, Alain Saint-Ange.
 
The latter also noted the official request was sent well, as indicated in the Le Défi Quotidien newspaper.
 
"I wrote to the Minister Mookhesswur Choonee, a month ago. I am still waiting for a response from him. I had only a letter from his office stating that they have received my correspondence", says the President of the Vanilla Islands and Minister of tourism and Culture of the Seychelles, Alain Saint-Ange.
 
As a reminder, the high event manifestation in colour is yet listed in capital letters on the calendar, at the end of April 2014, vanilla Islands which Mauritius is an integral part since August 2010.
 
The vanilla Islands (Mauritius, Reunion, Madagascar, Seychelles, Comoros, Mayotte and the Maldives) advocating the repositioning of the Indian Ocean as a tourist destination and the cohesion of these countries around this common objective.
 
The 4th edition of the Carnival of Victoria, followed by the international press will be also covered this year by OI7 TV, the new regional television of the vanilla Islands.
