Seychelles: Marie Payet, Miss Reunion 2011, will be one of the mistresses of ceremonies for the opening of the international Carnival in Victoria

The 2014 international Victoria Carnival edition (25-27 April), is co-organised by  this year by Reunion, Madagascar and Mayotte who joined the Seychelles as well as South Africa and the province of KwaZulu-Natal, with an opening presented in three languages (creole, English, French).

It is the former Miss Reunion 2011, Marie Payet, who will have the honour of representing the francophone world on stage alongside the other two mistresses of ceremony.

On its side, South Africa has chosen for his country the actress Angelique Gerber and English-language television presenter to present the opening ceremony of the international Carnival in Victoria, alongside the artist, Seychellois Michelle Marengo, representative of the creole language.

"We are a multi-ethnic country with three official languages. We must ensure that this is reflected in the events taking place in the heart of the archipelago. The various delegations that will land in the Seychelles may thus follow the ceremony official opening of the Carnival in Victoria in three languages, creole, English and French", stressed in mid-February, the Minister of tourism and Culture of Seychelles and President of vanilla islands, Alain Saint-Ange.

The international Carnival in Victoria in the Seychelles, high event manifestation in colour, is engraved in capital letters in the calendar of the vanilla islands (Reunion, Seychelles, Madagascar, Mauritius, Comoros, Mayotte and the Maldives).

The vanilla Islands advocate since their inception in August 2010 the repositioning of the Indian Ocean as a tourist destination and the cohesion of these countries around this common objective.

The 4th edition of the Carnival in Victoria, followed by the international press will be also covered this year by OI7 TV, the new regional television of the vanilla Islands.
