The United States Africa Summit which took place at the beginning of week in Washington at the initiative of US president Barack Obama, the Seychellois president, James Michel, had a meeting with the Ethiopian Prime Minister, Hailemariam Desalegn.

James Michel recalled inter alia that the return of the Ethiopian Airlines in October will strengthen economic and tourism ties between the two countries, as reported by the Seychelles New Agency site.

"I believe that the time has come for us to strengthen our relations both at the bilateral level and at the level of the African Union. It is what we can do together," said the president of the Seychelles archipelago, James Michel.

"The Seychelles fishery products can be exported to Ethiopia and at the same time the Seychelles can import vegetables and other products from Ethiopia. It would be a win-win situation... More security is crucial for our region, we are small, but ready to make our contribution to the peace and security of the region, including the African Union peacekeeping mission in the region," said the Seychellois president.
