Seychelles: Creole music contest for the artists of the archipelago during the Festival Kreol of Seychelles

Seychelles: Creole music contest for the artists of the archipelago during the Festival Kreol of Seychelles
While the Seychelles Kreol Festival will take place from 25 to 31 October 2013 in the archipelago, with "Victoria, Kapital Lemonn Kreol", as proudly announce the slogan for the promotional poster of the event, the Minister of tourism and Culture, Alain Saint-Ange, decided the reintroduction of the Seychellois creole music competition at the Festival Kreol of Seychelles for artists.

"The Festival Kreol would not happen, without the enhancement of creole music on the part of the artists of the archipelago", said the Minister of tourism and the Culture of Seychelles, Alain Saint-Ange.

The songs presented in the Creole language need to honor the insular culture and the essence of Creole festive, with music ever performed before and lasting no more than five minutes.

The winner will receive a cash prize for his artistic work and a trophy designed by the sculptor Tom Bowers of Seychelles shall also be issued.

Former winners of the music competition, Jose and Charles Raymond Clarisee thus encouraged local artists to take part in this universal celebration of Creole music at the Festival Kreol of Seychelles.

To recap, the 28th edition of the Festival Kreol of Seychelles is an opportunity to celebrate the Creole mingling oral traditions and cultures which are the pride of the Creole-speaking world.

Dance, music, crafts, cooking, language, Creole will be central to this unmissable event which attracts each year in its wake thousands of visitors for a cultural immersion in Creole soul in motion.

Many delegations from all over the Indian Ocean, Reunion, of Mauritius, Rodrigues and other creole speaking countries around the world are expected to radiate Creole and its identity.
