Seychelles: Back in pictures on the International Carnival of Victoria




The International Carnival of Victoria in the Seychelles took place from Friday to Sunday for three days of festivities, with sone twenty international cultural troupes (1) present alongside many Seychellois chars, despite heavy rainswhich have fortunately stopped, two hours before the event.
 
The opening ceremony which was held for the first time at the Victoria stadium was relayed by 151 accredited journalists from the four corners of the planet (2) and 84 bodies of press from around the world.
 
The Minister of tourism and Culture of Seychelles and President of Vanilla Islands, Alain Saint-Ange, opened the festivities of the Carnival of carnivals taking the famous words of singer John Lennon.
 
"You can say I'm a dreamer. But I'm not the only one. I hope that someday you will join us. And the world will live United,"said the Minister of Tourism of Seychelles, Alain Saint-Ange.
 
The International Carnival of Victoria is co-organised the 2014 edition by Reunion Madagascar and Mayotte who joined the Seychelles and South Africa and KwaZulu-Natal.
 
The festive event is engraved in capital letters in the calendar of Vanilla Islands (Reunion, Seychelles, Madagascar, Mauritius, Comoros, Mayotte and the Maldives island).
