Seychelles: A successful fishing competition




Sport fishing Club of Seychelles (CFMS) has organised last weekend in fish-bearing waters of the archipelago a Marlin fishing competition.
 
18 boats participated with crews of all nationality in the event of fishing of Marlin Slam Fishing Tournament, and left at 3 o'clock in the morning in the hunt for one of the largest pelagic fish of the Indian Ocean.
 
The Minister of tourism and Culture, Alain Saint-Ange, was personally dockside to welcome participants to the return of the vessels and monitor the weighing of catches of marlins.
 
Before the excitement generated by such an event among the population and tourists, the Ministry of Tourism plans to soon enter the competition in the calendar of events of the Seychelles Tourism Board.
 
The biggest catch of the competition was weighed at 212 pounds for a blue marlin.
