Seychelles: 11 Somalian pirates sentenced to the prison
Eleven Somalian pirates were sentenced by the Seychellois justice to sentences ranging from 18 months to 16 years in prison for the attack on 7 may 2012, of a fishing boat, as the announcement a press release published by Bruxelles on Thursday, October 3, 2013.

17 Iranian crew members were held hostage for four days before being released by hollandaise soldiers of the frigate Van Amstel as part of the Atalanta mission set in 2008 and intended to fight against maritime piracy raging in the heart the Indian Ocean.

As a reminder, in November 2009, the Seychelles and the European Union signed a cooperation agreement in the archipelago to judge the perpetrators of criminal acts of Somalian pirates against merchant vessels and their occupants.
