Reunion: Wenceslas Lauret named Honorary Ambassador of Reunion

Born of Reunionese parents, Wenceslas Lauret rugby player grew up in southwest of the France, in the Hautes-Pyrénées. Despite the distance, its commitment to the island of Reunion is noticeable. It is natural that Wenceslas Lauret received the title of Honorary Ambassador of Reunion this Wednesday, April 2, 2014.

Proud of its Reunionese origin, Wenceslas Lauret has ceased to proclaim its support for Reunion Island rugby, particularly since its advent in a professional environment. After joining the team of France in 2010, he is today the position of flanker of the Racing Métro 92 at 25 years old.

At Reunion in the company of two of his teammates, Henry Chavancy (centre) and Julien Brugnaut (pillar), Wenceslas Lauret received the title of Honorary Ambassador of Reunion. It is on the stadium field Abbé Dattas de Champ Fleuri that Patrick Serveaux, Vice President of the l'Île de La Réunion Tourisme (IRT), presented to the player of Rugby Union this honorary recognition. Wenceslas Lauret, whose name comes from the old Slavic and means "Crown of glory" or "crowned glory", now bears the emblem of Reunion and agrees to contribute on a voluntary basis to his fame beyond the borders of the island. His mission: make known, make love and to adopt the island of Reunion to the greatest number.

A good try which remains to turn for those who would like to "create a cell that would allow each year two young Reunionese, selected at the end of a day of detection, to leave for one or two weeks in France." (JIR 01/04/2014).
