Reunion: O'Brian Braber named Honorary Ambassador of Reunion Island

O'Brian Barber is currently in Reunion Island on the occasion of the World Amateur Golf Reunion which takes place at the golf of Bassin Bleu till April 21, 2014. South African personality known and recognized in the golfing world, he received the title of Honorary Ambassador of Reunion Island on Friday, April 18, 2014.

Friday, April 18, 2014 in the guesthouse Côté Cannelle of Bernica, Vice President of the l'Île de La Réunion Tourisme (IRT) Patrick Serveaux has awarded the diploma of Honorary Ambassador of Reunion to O'Brian Barber.
This South African golf player participated in various tournaments of golf in Reunion Island and returns this year in the context of the World Amateur Golf Audi Reunion,  which took place from 19 to 21 April 2014 at the Golf of Bassin Bleu. Unable to participate in the competition due to injury, he has supported his daughter and favorite of the tournament women's Samantha Barber: "this time I play shopping carts!", he says.
O'Brian Barber was born in Cape Town, South Africa. He bathes in the world of sports from a young age but particularly passionate about golf. Years later, he became director of Tamarina Golf in Mauritius and Mowbray Golf Club in Cape Town. He is currently Ambassador of Els for Autism Foundation, a U.S. charitable foundation established in 2009 by professional golfer Ernie Els.
This Friday, April 18, O'Brian Barber also made ​​an honorary ambassador of Reunion and undertakes a voluntary basis, to make known, to love and to pass the island of Reunion.
The network of Ambassadors established by the IRT expands again and rises to 41 the number of people engaged in the promotion of the island.
As part of its promotion of Reunion Island, the IRT supports the World Amateur Golf Reunion and invited Lali Stander, South African journalist, to ensure the media coverage of this event. Foreign players meanwhile enjoy an excursion to the volcano after the competition.
