Reunion: First edition of the cooking competition of Christian Antou

Thursday, April 24, 2014, the Lycée hôtelier La Renaissance organises the first edition of the cooking competition of Christian Antou on the theme " La cuisine de La Réunion, c'est la réunion des cuisines ". In tribute to the former Professor and Reunionese chef de cuisine, the competition is open to professionals of the hotel sector, catering or crafts of gastronomes as well as those following a course in this area.

Twenty candidates have for now decided to meet the challenge of the cooking competition of Christian Antou, in one of the five proposed categories: entries, fish, meats, desserts and professional future.
Participants should do their utmost to make preparations, cooking, handling and dressings alone.
Only products of the Indian Ocean area will be allowed, along with a product "lontan" to make a gourmet dish. Of the local products: green papaya, chowchow, bream, zourite, chicken, smoked pork, pineapple or the combava.
Each of the five categories will be awarded a prize, supplemented by a sixth award: Prix Femin
The aim of this event is to pay tribute to the work of Christian Antou, essential character and fervent defender of the Reunion Island kitchen. Through this competition, it is also to promote products and cuisine of the Indian Ocean.
The cooking competition of Christian Antou is available to professionals in the hospitality, catering or gastronomy sector, as well as to the future professionals of the sector. Registrations are made online on the website of the Lycée hôtelier La Renaissance until Monday, March 31, 2014, there are still places!
