Privatization of Comoros Telecom
The privatization of the Comoros Telecom operator including its 230, 000 mobile subscribers have entered its first phase.  

Vast social plan that concern 1,200 employees

The Comorian Government announced that it will transfer 51% of the shares of the company to private funds. The invitation to tender has just been launched. The Comorian State will however retain 34% of the capital and 15% will be in the hands of the employee-owners. 

Main source of employment on the Islands, Comoros Telecom may suffer a wide social plan which already worries about 1,200 employees. 
Privatization Comores Telecom was one of the main measures advocated by the International Monetary Fund to reach the completion point of the Heavily Indebted Poor Countries (HIPC) and relief of foreign debt amounting to 133 million euros of debt Comorian.
