Mayotte: Victorin Lurel, the Minister of overseas signed the Decree of indexing for the public service on the island

Victorin Lurel, Minister of Overseas on an official trip to Mayotte this weekend after two days of travel to Reunion, on Friday signed the decree of indexing up to 5% for the public of the island with retroactive effect from January 1, 2013 and will be published in the Official Gazette of the Republic in a few days.

Following officials strikes that have shaken Mayotte during the first months of the year, the Government decided to index the salaries of three public functions that affect the island of perfumes, with a rate of surremuneration of 40% as in Guadeloupe and Martinique.

A vast building site that the government has set on the horizon of 2017, with a gradual increase in wages provided each year.
To recap, several unions, including SNUIPP, FO and CGT, representing employees of the public service, had left unresolved in recent weeks the threat of new strikes if the index recorded by the government was not effectively translated in effect, with an increase of wages on pay slip officials, as related newspaper of Mayotte.
