Mayotte: The new regional airline, Ewa, 51% owned by Air Austral operational in November 2013

The Reunionese Air Austral Company (51% share) and other partners, including the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, of up to 20%, are preparing to launch in Mayotte a new airline called Ewa, with capital of 4.5 million euro.

Air rotations from Dzaoudzi toward Madagascar (Nosy Be, Mahajanga), Comoros (Anjouan, Moroni) and Tanzania (Dar es Salaam) and eventually to Mozambique are scheduled to begin from November 2013 as indicated by Kwezi Television and the newspaper France Mayotte.
The airline Ewa hopes to place the island of Mayotte as a regional hub for the country near the Mozambique Channel.
