Mayotte: Suspension of the indefinite strike of liberal doctors
Liberal physicians of Mayotte had suspended yesterday Wednesday their indefinite strike began earlier this week to denounce the conditions of exercise of the profession on the island to perfumes, real "medical desert" according to them.

According to official figures from the Council of the order in Mayotte, there are thus 182 doctors, of which 31 are in liberal activity for a population of 212.645 inhabitants and which would reach 270,000 people after taking into account of illegal immigrants, as relates the newspaper Le Parisien.

Hospital doctors who joined the strike had stopped their action, on Tuesday, after having assured a meeting with the Minister of Health and Social Affairs, Marisol Touraine, scheduled for October 11.

Representatives of the Mayotte medicine liberal Union (LMMS, affiliated Trade Union Confederation of French medical -CRIDDLE000) thus declare of having obtained guarantees on their first claims to the prefect of Mayotte, Jacques Witkowski, in their interview with the first representative of the State on the island.
