Mayotte: Midwives parade in silence through the streets of Mamoudzou

Midwives of Mayotte, who rallied in mid-October the national movement for the recognition of their status as hospital practitioners and no more classified in the category of the paramedical, marched yesterday morning in the streets of Mamoudzou.

Angry midwives dressed in black and wearing white masks then joined in the greatest silence the Hospital Centre of Mayotte and regional health agency where were deposited hundreds of letters of support from the population that will be sent to their supervisory ministry in Paris.
On a banner that read "If midwives are invisible, as much make them disappear."
As a reminder, midwives are still on strike requisitioned each in turn to ensure the continuity of public service on the island of perfume and proceed to the delivery of mothers.

Consultations and follow-ups of pregnancy are also maintained, but midwives provide no more administrative acts and return to doctors to any problems while usually midwives manage themselves these situations, as reported by Kwezi Television.
