Mayotte: First edition of the national days of Archaeology at Mayotte

The first edition of the National Archaeology days will take place on 6, 7 and 8 June 2014 to Mayotte by the direction of Cultural Affairs of the prefecture in partnership with the Department, the SHAM association and the association of the naturalists of Mayotte.
The event will take place including the departmental Committee of tourism and the construction of Acoua.
The public is invited free of charge to the meeting of Archaeology in Mayotte in the wake of three exhibitions as well as workshops, publications and thematic projections.
A conference and a visit to the site of Acoua to highlight the latest research to discover the greatest number the archaeological richness of the collections of the future Museum of Mayotte are also on the program of the cultural event.
As a reminder, the archaeological site of Antsiraka Boira located high on the beach of Vato Madiniki, has witnessed of several \campaigns of excavations from September 2012 to May 2014 on an area of 100 square meters.
These excavations have updated a necropolis dating from the 12th and 13th centuries with the discovery of a quarantine of funeral monuments.
 About ten thousand pearls which constituted trimmings have been found in these tombs.
