Mayotte: Crisis meeting about the explosion of cases of dengue recorded on the island since the beginning of the year

Those in charged with vector control of the regional agency of Health Indian Ocean and the prefecture of Mayotte convened a meeting of crisis last Saturday following the explosion of dengue cases reported since the beginning of the year.
On the 17 municipalities of the Department, twelve mayors were present.
The objective of this meeting was to empower the elect so that they engage alongside the authorities in a comprehensive plan to combat the breeding in their communes.
As a reminder, in 2010 a dengue fever outbreak had struck the island of Mayotte with more than 150 people affected by the disease.
Since the beginning of the year 2014, 78 cases of dengue fever were recorded, including 11 people who have been forced to be transferred to hospital to be treated, as reported by Kwezi Television.
