Mayotte: A new amphidrome operational in mid-June 2014 to connect Grande-Terre to Petite-Terre

A brand-new amphidromous, Georges Nahouda *, should  be functional in mid-June 2014 in Mayotte linking Grand Terre to Petite Terre and be operating alongside two other amphidromous and four barges of the Sea Transport Service (STM) dependent on the general Council.
Built in Mauritius in the shipyard of the Indian Ocean for 5.8 million euros, the new amphidrome measurement more than 39 metres long, as reported by the Journal of Mayotte.
As a reminder, almost 4 million people borrow so each year the barges in Mayotte.
