Mayotte: 203.000 SIM cards in service on the island

The number of SIM cards has continued its progress in Mayotte.
The authority of regulation of electronic communications and post (ARCEP) has thus listed in 31 December 2013 some 203.000 SIM cards in service and registered with the three local operators.
A year earlier, 195,000 SIM cards were recorded on the mobile telephony market, an increase of 4.1% between 2012 and 2013.
As a reminder, as also noted the issuing institution of Overseas Departments (IEDOM) in its annual report, 77% of people aged 12 years and older have at least one phone for personal use Mayotte.
The figure turns around 88% in metropolitan France, as reported by the Journal of Mayotte.
