Mauritius wishes to associate the Maldives with the label of the Vanilla Islands
The president of the Tourist Office of Mauritius, Robert Desvaux wishes that the Maldives to be integrated with the label of the "vanilla islands" in the near future.  

On an official visit in the archipelago along with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Mauritius, Xavier Luc Duval, Robert Desvaux wished that the Maldives associate themselves with other tourism stakeholders in the area."It is important that the Maldives join the Vanilla Islands because it is a destination that counts in the Indian Ocean. If all tourism stakeholders in this part of the world come together under the umbrella of Vanilla Islands, the region will be strengthened and succeed in the long term to provide visitors with a comprehensive and diverse holiday offers", said the President of the Office of Tourism of Mauritius.

The "Vanilla islands" are a collaborative promotion of the islands of the Indian Ocean, with the pooling of know-how and tourism skills of Reunion, Mauritius, the Comoros, Seychelles and Madagascar.
