Mauritius wants to fight against illegal fishing in its territorial waters
The Minister of Fisheries in Mauritius, Nicolas Von Mally, has decided to start a fight against the plundering of Mauritian waters and its shoals of fish by purse seine vessels flying foreign flags and commit their crimes at night.

Since the beginning of the year 2013, two Sri Lankans and two Thai ships were already intercepted in Mauritian territorial waters, they were engaged in illegal fishing activities and cause "enormous damage" financally in Mauritius according to the Minister of Fisheries, Nicolas Von Vally.

The latter warns that Mauritius "will mercilessly deal with vessels fishing in the territorial waters without a permit", as related by the newspaper Le Matinal.
