Mauritius, the most innovative country in sub-Saharan Africa

The Global index of Innovation * published annually by the world Organisation of intellectual property (WIPO) in cooperation with the European Institute of business administration and the American University Cornell's New York reveals in its 7th edition that Mauritius is at the top of sub-Saharan countries for creativity.
Mauritius which is climbed to 13 places from last year is now place in 2014 at the 40th place followed by the Seychelles archipelago to the 51st position and South Africa ranked 53rd, as reported by the Le Défi Quotidien newspaper.
The classification, which includes 143 countries, is passed to sift from more than 80 indicators listed as among other infrastructure, human capital, the level of research, the development of markets, technological achievements, industrial property, the level of creativity as well as the links between University and industry in terms of research.
