Mauritius sells its first tourist market leader in the Indian Ocean to the Seychelles

Mauritius sells its first tourist market leader of the Indian Ocean to the Seychelles.

After a 2012 touristic year with a slight decline in terms of tourist arrivals, Mauritius sees itself dethroned by the Seychelles in the Tourism world at the rankings of the World Economic Forum (WEF), falling at the fifth places compared to last ranking of 2011.

Mauritius lost its regional supremacy and now occupies a 58th position while the Seychelles are powered for the first time in the ranking at an honorable 38th place.

The Seychelles become therefore the touristic leader of the Indian Ocean region and sub-Saharan Africa.

This World Reference WEF classification is based on various criteria including the security of tourists in the country visited and the prices for travel to tourist destinations.
