Mauritius rewarded by the Chinese tourism sector of travel




Mauritius will have the honours of the prestigious ceremony organised by the Ctrip group, the China travel industry leader.
The Ctrip Group thus praised Mauritius placing it in the top 10 of the best holiday destinations in the Islands and the countries to be visited in the world.
 
The awards will be in Shanghai on 28 February before more than 300 professionals in the global tourism sector, including offices of tourism, airlines and many representatives of the international press which will follow the event.
 
Meanwhile, Chinese magazine specializing in the travel range elected Mauritius as emerging from the year 2013 destination, as reported in the Le Défi Quotidien newspaper.
 
As a reminder, Chinese tourists in Mauritius are now at the beginning of the year 2014 in third place just behind Reunionese tourists and travellers from metropolitan France that still prance leading pack of tourist arrivals to the island of Mauritius, as indicated in the Le Défi Quotidien newspaper.
 
6,706 tourists from China visited Mauritius in January 2014 against 1.682 holidaymakers a year earlier, an increase of 298.7%.
 
In 2013, 41.913 Chinese tourists landed in Mauritius were 20.885 during 2012, an increase of 100.7%.
