Mauritius now connected to Chengdu in China

After Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong, Chengdu, capital of the Sichuan province, in South West of China, is now connected to Mauritius since Monday, July 6 with a weekly direct flight operated by Airbus A340-300.
Between January and May 2015, 34,150 Chinese tourists have chosen the Mauritius destination for their journey through the Indian Ocean, representing an increase of 26.6%. An agreement between China and Mauritius had already been officially recorded in mid-June on the side of Beijing. It is thus up to 28 weekly flights which will soon link the two countries.
As a reminder, the Chinese visitors were 63,365 to travel to Mauritius during 2014, representing a growth of 51.2%. In 2013, 41,913 Chinese tourists had also visited Mauritius.
