Mauritius: free, fair and credible elections according to the Southern African Development Community

The Southern African Development Community (SADC), which had sent in Mauritius an observer mission one week before the polling of Wednesday, December 10, 2014, recently expressed a positive feeling about the holding of elections on the island - election day and counting - with elections considered "free, fair and credible."
The South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Maite Nkoana-Mashabane, at the head of the delegation of observers was also delighted about the respect during the election campaign of pluralistic political views of the Mauritian electorate and the maturity of the population of the island.
The SADC observer mission also wished to see in the future a greater number of women present themselves and run for political office in Mauritius.
