Mauritius: Worrying Situation of the levels in the hillside reservoirs despite heavy rains on Wednesday




Despite the heavy rains that lashed the island Wednesday afternoon, the public body in charge of water distribution in Mauritius (CWA) sounds the alarm about the state of reservoirs hill on island and called consumers to use rainwater for "cleaning, watering and other chores."
 
The largest reservoir in the country, Mare aux Vacoas, 56.5% filling (89.9% in June 2013), The Nicolière 40.9%, Piton du Milieu 52.8% (87.6 % in June 2013), La Ferme 23.4% (76.3% in June 2013), Mare Longue 62.4% (93.3 in June 2013) and Midlands Dam 41.3% (97.2% in June 2013), as shown in the newspaper Le Matinal.
