Mauritius: When the ambulance of the hospital serves to take party-goers and go to the casino...
The paramedics under the Ministry of Health in Mauritius and assigned to different hospitals of the island have questioned their ministry on the many abuses of the public on the use of their medical vehicles.

The reported cases are not lacking according to them to justify their pressing concerns to the Ministry of Health.

For example, the paramedics put forward the example of a false patient who came several times to the emergency room, complaining of severe headache, and that after care requested an ambulance to leave his home in Vacoas. Suspecting something amiss, paramedics have one day followed the false patient to see him return without pain in a casino at Vacoas.

Same for young party goers who have lately made an ambulance traveled for one of their own, victim of a strange evil at 2 o'clock in the morning in Flic-en-Flac, in the West of the island of Mauritius. The arrival of paramedics, all the merry band has mounted in the vehicle as medical assistance, before alighting 15 km later, having taken the care to ask the driver to stop for a moment.

Some relatives of hospitalized patients also do not hesitate to call the ambulance for the ride home, as related by the newspaper Le Défi Quotidien.
