Mauritius: Vegetable and fruit crops severely impacted after the passage of tropical cyclone Bansi

While the tropical cyclone Bansi passed at 290 kilometers from the northern coast of Mauritius on Wednesday morning, draining on the island heavy rain and gusts of around 100 km / h, the Mauritian agricultural sector has not been spared by the meteor.
Between 50% and 60% of vegetable and fruit crops were destroyed by the bad weather. Farmers already announced a forthcoming and already surge in prices on the market stalls of the island.
All agricultural players are now turning to the Mauritian authorities for concrete measures of accompaniment and support to deal with the coming days ahead especially difficult for the overall agricultural sector in Mauritius.
