Mauritius: Tourist receipts increased in 2014 on the island

Tourist receipts for 2014 amounted to 44.3 billion rupees have experienced * an increase of 9.2% compared to 2013, as indicated by the Central Bank of Mauritius.
While 40,838 rupees had been spent by travelers arriving in Mauritius on an individual basis in 2013, the average expenditure is estimated for the year 2014 to 42,642 rupees per visitor, an increase of 4.4%.
As a reminder, 1,038,968 tourists disembarked in Mauritius last year, an increase of 4.6% in comparison with tourist arrivals registered in 2013 and 993,106 tourists recorded.
