Mauritius: The young jewelry thief couple eventually arrested

Police has finally put hand on the jewelry thieves. A schoolgirl of 16 years, and her boyfriend, 26 years old, were caught red-handed by the police on Tuesday afternoon, in the vicinity of the Hospital of Flacq, Mauritius, while they were preparing to trap old ladies, wearing jewelry, who left the hospital after their medical consultation or even after having paid visits to relatives.

The couple raged around this hospital since December to boot out these vulnerable people from their jewelry. Several complaints have been made in various police stations of the region and those of surrounding areas.

They invited the old ladies to get in the car to drop them off at home. The young man is presented as the brother of the schoolgirl. Once on a deserted road, he stopped the vehicle, on the ruse that there would have been a mechanical problem. The schoolgirl and the old lady would get off the car. Thus the victim would be stripped of her jewelry, under the threat of a sharp weapon. The couple is going to flee, leaving their only victim in this isolated place. It is the passers-by who fly to the rescue of the old lady.
