Mauritius: The transshipment of containers sector in full growth

The sector of the transshipment of containers on the docks of the port of the Mauritian capital is booming.
According to the latest official figures of the Mauritius Port Authority (MPA), they are thus 3.652 boats which have positioned themselves in the harbour of Port Louis to perform their various operations in the transshipment of containers on the docks in 2013.
In 2011, there were 2.641 ships docking at a 38% growth over two years.
The Mauritius Port Authority wants to then move into hub of transshipment for all containers in the Indian Ocean area and increase its capacity on site, currently of 550,000 containers, "by at least 50%", as reported by the newspaper Le Matinal.
750,000 containers should be treated on the storage area enlarged, totalling an area of 6.5 hectares on the horizon for 2018.
As a reminder, the first shots of pick of the renovation of the terminal started since last July.
