Mauritius: The renovated tomb of Father Laval officially opened in mid-August 2014

The architecture of the Tomb has changed completely after the last annual pilgrimage of September 2013, with a new vault to the atmosphere of more pronounced recollection built at the rear of the former and which was not demolished, but linked to the new structure by colonnades.
The work cost approximately 24 million rupees *, whose 10 million have been granted by the Government of Mauritius, as shown in the newspaper L'Express of Mauritius.
As a reminder, the tomb of Blessed Jacques - Désiré Laval (1803-1864), beatified by Jean Paul II in April 1979, located in St. Croix, drains in its wake many pilgrims and tourists in the North of Mauritius.
* One euro roughly equivalent to 41 rupees
