Mauritius: The national airline company Air Mauritius register a decline in its results with the fall of the euro

The national airline company Air Mauritius recorded a drop of 2.7 million for the third quarter of the 2014-2015 fiscal year for a turnover valued at 123.7 million euros. On the same calendar period in 2013-2014, Air Mauritius had earned a net profit of 8.6 million euros.
A depreciation in the euro in the wake of the parity between the euro and dollar which went between 31 December 2013 and 31 December 2014, from 1.36 to 1.25 is the cause of the deficit. The revaluation of assets and liabilities of the company that approximates in the third quarter of 3 million euro has also weighed heavily in the balance. These two financial factors have thus drained in their wake a cumulative loss of 8 million euro in the accounts of Air Mauritius.
The national airline company proposed in particular on its lines during the third quarter 529 069 seats, an increase of 1.9% compared to a year earlier. The aircraft occupancy rates reached 73.1%, in particular against 77.5% in the third quarter of fiscal year 2013-2014.
