Mauritius: The most senior citizen of the island passed away at the dawn of its 113 years

The most senior citizen of Mauritius, Emilie Louise Codor, who would blow out her 113 candles in January, died on Friday morning at Jeetoo hospital in Port-Louis.

Native of Diego Garcia, the affectionate centennial named Tantine Boudoute lived with her grand-son on the side of Roche-Bois in the north of Mauritius.

She had previously worked in the plantations and for the confection of boat sails to feed her three boys who passed away before her.

In 2012, Auntie Boudoute lived in complete autonomy without the help of a third person and claimed to have lived this long with the blessing of God.
