Mauritius: The lottery of the Mauritian tax for the payment of VAT updates the companies convicted of tax evasion

The lottery for the payment of the VAT VLDS (Vat Lucky Draw Scheme) introduced a few months ago by the Mauritian tax was a success for the administration to target defaulters on the island.
Several companies who failed to report their actual turnover were traced.
Some traders cashed several million rupees, but paid no taxes in parallel with on sales made.
Fifteen companies guilty of tax evasion have thus been identified.
Having regard to the proven effectiveness of VLDS, Sudhamo Lal, Director General of the Mauritius Revenue Authority, recently said that he plans to further deploy this system of indirect control of taxes collected, as indicated by the Le Matinal newspaper.
