Mauritius: The intervention of the tubal ligation increasingly in practiced on the island
The number of Mauritian women making ligating the fallopian tubes, as a method of contraception has increased by 45% in 10 years in Mauritius, according to latest official statistical study.
 
14,700 women over ten years who have already given birth several times have decided to undergo the surgery for tubal ligation carried out under general anesthesia and irreversible in terms of fertility.

In 2012, 500 patients have thus opted for tubal ligation on the 8,200 new women who are registered with the national program of contraception on the island, as the newspaper Express of Mauritius relates.
