Mauritius: The governmental alliance wins the anticipated municipal election, the opposition laminated

The verdict of the ballot boxes is now known in the wake of early municipal election which took place yesterday, Sunday.
The * Le Peuple alliance, in power in Mauritius since December 2014 has won all five cities of Mauritius (Port Louis, Vacoas-Phoenix, Beau-Bassin / Rose-Hill, Beau-Bassin / Rose-Hill and Quatre-Bornes).
The 120 seats of municipal councilors in power are going to fall into the hands of the governmental alliance.
Only 35.6% of urban electors had traveled to carry out their electoral duty that is 140,913 voters registered out of the 395 961 112 spread across the country's polling stations.
The governmental alliance headed by the Prime Minister Sir Anerood Jugnauth had as its principal opponent the Mouvement Militant Mauricien (MMM), while the Labour Party (PTr) did not participate in the election due to lack of funds.
