Mauritius: The government intends to create 15,000 jobs per year

The MSM deputy Bobby Hureeram said on Tuesday at the National Assembly that the Lepep Alliance (1) in power in Mauritius since December 2014 and led by the Prime Minister Sir Anerood Jugnauth will tackle the unemployment problem on the island that currently affects 7.8% of the active population.
The government intends to create 15,000 jobs per year. Dynamics of the activity to be supported especially by small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The latter will be financially supported by a new bank for SMEs which will have at his disposal 10 billion rupees (2).
As a reminder, at the end of 2013, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the Mauritian economy enumerated 255,000 employees. These SMEs contributed to the country's GDP at 40%.

(2) One euro roughly equivalent to 38 rupees
