Mauritius: The flu causes the island to cough in early austral winter

From 21 to April 27, 2014, 5.171 cases of influenza or respiratory tract infection have been identified in public hospitals of Mauritius, as indicated in the latest figures published by the Ministry of health.
 
Influenza a virus (high fever and cough) particularly active over the weeks previous and is correlated with the onset of the southern winter, as reported by the newspaper L'Express of Mauritius.
 
As a reminder, 85,000 doses of influenza vaccine were purchased for several weeks for approximately 10 million rupees * by the Mauritian authorities.
